The Herbert-Worch-Foundation is a non-profit organisation fostering the development of new therapies. The Worch family started the foundation in honor of Herbert Worch's entrepreneurial achievements as the founder of the Deutscher Herold Insurance Group.

www.Forschen-Foerdern.org assembles a broad array of grants and awards available for German, Austrian and Swiss medical and life sciences research.

The Deutscher Innovationspreis Medizin awards € 100,000 personally to an outstanding German scientist/team (as well as any scientist working in Germany) for a therapeutic innovation that is already applied or is very likely to be applied. In 2011 we received an unexpected high number of nominations. In order to allow a detailed and objective assessment of the nominations the 2011 award procedere has been deferred.
